5565 Luanda ACC

Nice reception into Africa this evening on 5565 kHz from Luanda ACC. This is a MWARA frequency for the South Atlantic Ocean (SAT-2). Attached is an audio clip of Luanda wkg KLM 598, a Boeing 777-200 en route from Cape Town to Amsterdam. It’s always a thrill to receive African stations here in California.

Welcome fellow radio monitors and enthusiasts! Here you will find my reception logs and audio recordings for HF and SATCOM (with a focus on aviation and military) along with other interesting and odd things that have been monitored over the airwaves.

The majority of the logs and audio clips posted here have been monitored directly from my location in Southern California. I also share intercepts from online SDRs. They will be tagged with KiwiSDR to help identify.

My primary HF setup is the WinRadio G31DDC paired with magnetic loops such as the Wellbrook ALA1530. For UHF SATCOM, antennas used are the Trivec Avant AV-2011, AV-2055 and AV-2095.
